Susan Witcher was elected as the 18th President of the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women in October, 2009. She served a two year term as 1st Vice President of the Federation prior to beginning her service as President. She has also held the positions of Area 6A and 5B Vice President of the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women and has served on the TFRW’s Iris Fund Committee for many years.
Susan has also held the positions of President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Macon County Republican Women’s Club.
On the National level, Susan has served on the Membership Committee for the National Federation of Republican Women and served as the Fundraising Chairman and the Volunteers Co-Chairman for the 2003 National Federation of Republican Women’s Biennial Convention held in Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition to her service in the Republican Women’s organizations, Susan also holds several positions in the Republican Party. She has been a member of the Tennessee Republican Party’s State Executive Committee since 1999 and has served on the Bylaws Committee, the Finance Committee, the Women’s Coalition Committee, the Candidate Recruitment Committee and the Administrative Committee.
On the local level, she currently serves as a member of her County Republican Party’s Executive Committee and has previously held the position of Co-Chairman of her County Republican Party.
Susan has been involved in the campaigns of many Republican candidates including serving as county chairman for U.S. Senators Bill Frist and Fred Thompson and for President George W. Bush. She also served as an alternate delegate during the Republican National Convention held in New York City in 2004.
Susan received the Tennessee Republican Party’s Statesmen of the Year award in 2005.
In addition to her Republican Party activities, Susan also serves as Women’s Ministry Leader at New Life Baptist Church, and is a member of the Macon County Right to Life.
Susan lives in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee with her husband, Judge Ken Witcher. They have two children and two grandchildren. |
